The Conference of Ministers of Science

The Conference of Ministers of Science is one of three sub-conferences of the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs (KMK). In this body, the federal states coordinate their higher education, research, and science policies and continue to develop them. Universities and science are of central importance for the future prosperity and democratic resilience of our society. The independence of the Science Ministers’ Conference within the framework of the KMK offers an opportunity to make cooperation more agile and effective. The dynamism and competitiveness of Germany’s higher education and research landscape, as well as its European and international networking, will benefit from this.
